Building the Intelligence Layer for Modern Newsrooms With Real-Time Analytics

Featured Blog
Modern publishers can no longer rely on disconnected editorial analytics tools that only explain performance after the moment has passed.

In this featured article, we explore how real-time analytics is evolving into a connected intelligence layer that combines live traffic, visitor behavior, content context, and page-level insights to support decisions while stories are still unfolding.

It also explores TWIPLA’s upcoming roadmap for publishers, including embedded CMS analytics, page-level intelligence, content performance analytics, trend intelligence, and AI-powered content generation designed to move editorial teams from reactive reporting toward faster, action-focused workflows.

Event Tracking: Filter Data by UTM Campaign Name

Understanding which campaigns drive visitor interactions just got easier.

TWIPLA now lets you filter both Custom Events and Default Events by UTM Campaign Name directly inside the Event Tracking module.

This update helps marketing teams isolate activity generated by specific campaigns, making it easier to analyze how visitors from newsletters, ads, promotions, or other tagged campaigns interact with your website.

The new filters are available across both Custom and Default Events, aligning Event Tracking with TWIPLA’s existing UTM Campaign reporting for a more consistent workflow across the platform.

Session Recordings: Clearer Visitor Actions Tooltips

We’ve improved the Visitor Actions tooltip inside Session Recordings to make behavior insights easier to understand at a glance.

The updated layout now gives greater visibility to problematic events detected during a recording, while improving the overall structure and readability of the tooltip itself.

Labels have been repositioned closer to the title area for better clarity, helping teams quickly understand when alarming behavior events are included within the total number of visitor actions.

This small UX refinement makes session analysis faster and more intuitive, especially when reviewing recordings with frustration signals or unusual visitor behavior patterns.

Get More from Your Session Recordings

Session Recordings are designed to work as part of TWIPLA’s wider intelligence ecosystem, rather than as an isolated replay tool.

Teams can jump directly into recordings from:

This makes it easier to investigate why visitors abandon journeys, struggle with important pages, or fail to complete key actions.

TWIPLA also supports highly filterable recordings, helping teams isolate sessions by behavior, traffic source, campaign activity, device information, location, and more.

For teams looking to get more from replay analysis, we recently published a practical guide on how to analyze Session Recordings effectively, complete with real examples and walkthrough videos.

Real-Time Analytics: Export Data from Real-Time Interactions Report

The Real-Time Interaction report block inside TWIPLA’s Real-Time Analytics Dashboard now supports direct data exports.

Users can export visible table data in both:

  • .CSV
  • .XLSX

Exports automatically respect:

  • Applied filters
  • Selected segments
  • Visible columns

With this update, it's now much simpler to move live analytics data into external reporting workflows, presentations, spreadsheets, or deeper analysis environments without manually rebuilding reports.

This functionality is especially useful for teams monitoring live campaigns, fast-moving traffic spikes, or active audience engagement across multiple reporting workflows.

Comparing TWIPLA with Chartbeat

Compare
As analytics moves beyond content performance alone, the gap between editorial reporting and broader website intelligence is becoming harder to ignore.

Chartbeat remains a strong platform for real-time newsroom analytics and attention tracking, but it’s not built to explain what happens beyond the article itself, or how engagement connects to conversions and business outcomes.

What’s harder with Chartbeat:

We’ve put together a new comparison exploring where Chartbeat works well, where it starts to fall short, and what changes when analytics, behavior, conversions, and content intelligence come together in one place.
